PLT – Pioneer Leadership Training

PLT is a great way for the girls to expand their leadership skills and meet Pioneers from all over the state. There are 6 courses for them to explore and they can complete up to 2 a year.

The training aims to engage the girls in learning experiences that prepare them for leadership roles within Girls’ Brigade, their Churches and the wider community. A holistic approach is taken to explore leadership, personal and spiritual development.

Foundations

Foundations is the starting point in your PLT journey. In this module, you will explore the big picture of Girls’ Brigade, while learning how to plan and lead aspects of a company night. You will also have the opportunity to practice your skills in your company and meet with a mentor to explore what it means to be an effective leader.

Pre-course requirements: online training modules.

Take home activity: run an activity with the Cadets or Juniors and meet with a mentor 3 times.

Events

Great events can be fun, exciting and even life-changing! All good events require strong planning and preparation. You will learn the essential skills to plan an event from idea to implementation.

Working in effective teams is an essential skill in so many areas of our lives. Community

As we explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus, we see that so much of His work was out in the community. He met with people, healed them and changed their lives in the streets, market place and their homes. In this module you will explore what it means to be part of a community, how people in the pst have made positive impacts in their communities and what God might be calling us to do.

Take home activity: present your experience and learning to your company.

Lead

The word ‘leadership’ is often used in our society, yet what makes a good and effective leader? In this module you will explore what it means to be a leader and how your unique abilities can shape the type of leader you are. You will have time to reflect on how God has shaped each of us and how we can best serve GB and the community.
