Girls’ Brigade WA provides girls with the opportunity to develop leadership skills in a fun and inclusive environment and I am honoured to be its Patron.
In 2018, Girls’ Brigade will celebrate its 125th anniversary worldwide. During this milestone year it is my hope that every girl in the Girls’ Brigade WA feels proud to know that they belong to an international group of young women who share the same values.
I recently had the pleasure of presenting girls with awards at the State Awards Ceremony, including the Queen’s Award. It was wonderful to celebrate the achievements, hard work and dedication of the recipients together with the Girls’ Brigade WA family.
I am always impressed by the confidence and leadership skills exuded by the girls who I meet at these events. The Girls’ Brigade WA do an outstanding job of helping the girls to realise their individual potential through a range of activities that provide them with skills and experiences that will serve them well in all aspects of life.
I am encouraged through my involvement with Girls’ Brigade to know that this organisation is having a positive effect on future generations.
Her Excellency the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AC
